Long Windy Roads Japan are very common in Japan. This is a short video showing what the roads are like on a trip up into the Nagano mountains. The countryside is very green with houses that can be seen in the distant. The roads are narrow with places on the side for cars that need to pull over. There are also large stone structures on the side of the road to keep avalanches at bay which are very common in Japan during the rainy season.

Summer Twilight was extremely fun to shoot. There is a lot happening here and thus the challenge of composition was huge. The selective focusing combined with the background colors and contrast of the leaves made this shot very rewarding for me. I can gaze at this photo for quite a while which for me is what makes photography fun.

Zenkoji in Nagano City has some pretty cool temples and shrines to visit. This is one of them that I like very much. This video was taken in the middle of the Obon holiday this week and so you’ll see the orange and white lanterns hanging about. It was a gorgeous day and the colors came out well I thought. The Video was taken with my pocket HD camera called the Creative Vado HD. You can hear the sounds of the Cicadas in the background which are abundant during the August Summer season.
