This has already been planned and booked, but I thought I would do a write up as I have another one in September in Nagano. I am also working on putting together something in Tokyo as well. My biggest problem is getting the funds to get to Tokyo, pay for the models, and the services of a hair stylist to in the area to help with the hair, make, and fasion. I’m definitely gearing up for something in Tokyo for both September and October. Whether they will be meets or photoshoots I am not sure.

Nagano Photography Workshop. *** FULL ***

Workshop Location
Nagano City Venue for Location Shoot
Magee Hair Salon or Diva Hair Salon for Indoor Shoot
If it rains, we can do almost everything indoors. No worries!

When
Monday, July 21st, 2008 10:00 AM Start
Duration is 1 day

Limit 5 Photographers
Why 5? Allows for more in depth work with the models and for bouncing thoughts of other photographers. Limits people standing around and gets everyone involved more. Lots of shooting!

Hair Stylist and Makeup Artist will be on hand for the models.

Workshop Summary
Off Camera Flash and Available Light Fashion Photoshoots
- Use 1 Flash Unit
- Use 1-2 Reflectors
- Use directional available light

Photoshoot with model(s)
- Models usually consist of 2 or 3 models. Models are amatuer by nature, but are paid. Models usually only speak Japanese, but we never have a problem working out communication. Photographers will be encouraged to offer direction for the model if possible.

Photoshop Post Processing Exchange and Techniques.
Will be sharing some tips and techniques I use. Generally this time is used to discuss workflows and to gets some ideas on how to work with the photos taken. Photoshop actions are discussed as well. I’ve got lots of info to share.

Workshop Fee
10,000 yen per photographer.

Covers costs of model, venue, hair stylists, transportation, and supplies.

Photoshoot Workshops are non-profit events. Fees are collected simply to cover costs of hiring the people required to have the photoshoot. Fees are collected in advance of workshop to secure a spot.

How to Sign Up
Contact

Please include your name, location, and contact info. I will respond within 24 hours with additional workshop details.

Workshop Requirements
All levels are welcome
DSLR camera, one lens, and one flash if possible.
Laptop is recommended for Photoshop Post Processing tasks, but not required.

Again, sorry this is now closed, but I’ll be doing another one in September. Plus I also am trying to get one together in Tokyo around the same time. Stay tuned!!
